Stanford University believes in higher education in order to create and share knowledge. They also work to prepare their students to think hightly, and share that knowlege to the world. Including, "fresh thinking, searching discussinon, and freedom of thought."
Standford was found by Lelan Stanford and his wife in 1885, California. In order to promote public welfare in behalf of humanity, civilization, and in honor of their only child that died young. Standford University also has a church in campus, "Stanford Memorial Church was established by Jane Stanford in memory of her husband, Leland Stanford, as a symbol of the family’s commitment to an education informed by religious, spiritual, moral and ethical values."(found in website link below)
