The teams of Total Firey Island were based off of the teams of Total Drama Island, a Cartoon Network show that BFDI was inspired by. The names of the teams in Total Drama Island were the Screaming Gophers and the Killer Bass, which is why the TFI teams are called the Yelling Beavers and the Murderer Trout.
