in 2006 nintendo created a console called the wii. The wii was focaused around motion controles. That means that when you moved the controller the character would move too. A year before in 2005 microsoft made xbox 360. The xbox had an extention to do things like the wii but with your hands and body not a controller this was called the xbox cinnect. In 2006 sony made another console called the ps3 (play station 3). The play station 3 had another version realeased called the ps3 slim. The ps3 slim was a smaller version of the ps3. The wii was the second best selling console ever (the first best was the ps2). The wii had games including Super Mario Galaxy, Mario kart wii, Super mario bros. wii, metroid prime echos, etc.
in 2012 nintendo made another console called the wiiu. The wiiu did not sell as well as the wii(which sold 101 million units) the wiiu sold 13,000 units. In 2013 sony realeased the ps4 (play station 4). The ps4 sold 50 million units. Microsoft also made an enter in the generation of console wars and made the xbox one in 2013. The xbox one sold 20 million units. The wiiu had games such as splatoon, mario kart 8, super mario 3d world, super mario bros. u, super luigi bros. u, super smash bros. for the wiiu, etc.

In 2017 Nintendo realeased the nintendo switch. The Nintendo switch was a console hybrid it is a home console when you dock it or you can take it out of it's dock and play on the go therefor handheld. In 2016 Sony made a ps4 slim which is a small version of the ps4. In 2016 microsoft made xbox one s the s stands for slim. The Nintendo Switch sold 4.7 million units in the first four months of being released. The Nintendo Sswitch had games such as splatoon two, mario kart 8 deulex, metroid prime 4, kirby star allies, yoshi, pokemon etc.
