How was space created?

Space was created during the event called the "Big Bang".During that was when all of space,time,matter,and energy in the universe was created.This giant explosion hurled matter in all directions and caused space,itself to expand.Later as the Universe cooled,the material in it combined to form galaxies,stars,and planets!

How long did it take to form

Space took 13.8 billion years to form.In comparison our solar system is only 4.6 billion years old.This is only an estimate though,it came from measuring the composition of matter and energy density in the universe.
