This is how the beaches used to look before the littering. People were having fun and enjoying Staten Island.

This is unfortunately how the beaches look now, we need to find a solution.
Staten Island contains many places that are disgusting. A lot of old businesses existed and attractions as well, but after the Great Depression and other negative factors, it started to get abandoned and people began littering in public places. A large portion of the island even used to be a landfill. There is a way to prevent more littering from occurring and cleaning up the litter that is already there. If new laws are imposed that add garbage cans on every street and corner with signs persuading people to keep the environment clean, this could potentially encourage people to throw away their own trash instead of littering. These signs may contain pictures showing the beautiful parts of Staten Island. Another important solution could be adding more recycling bins inside places like schools, because if people see this behavior inside these areas they may also begin to stop littering outside. This would make people abstain from littering and solve the problem.
With more trash cans as well as more laws imposed on people, we can fix this and restore how Staten Island used to look before this problem.
