The Joy Cons are the controllers for the switch and you can use it anywhere. The Joy Cons are detachable making it on the go. The Joy Cons works really well with the controller made for the Joy Cons. The Joy Cons may be bad for other people with big hands so they made a controller specifically made for the Joy Cons so people with big hands can play comfortably. The controller is a free version for the pro controller. To connect to a different Switch all you need to do is hold the tiny circle at the side of the controller and when you see the blinking greenish/yellowish light then wait until the controller has one greenish/yellowish dot.
