Fred Astaire was a famouse tap dancer. He lived until he was 88 years old. Fred was a big time perfectionist. He practiced many hours, prefecting his dance routine, he made dancing look easy. Fred grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born May 10, 1889. Fred sadly died on June 22, 1987 of pneumonia (a lung sickness). Fred stared in many movies. As a child he performed in "Funny Face." as an adult, Fred performed in the famous movies "Dancing lady" and "Flying Down to Rio." Fred was an amazing actor and dancer.

Bill Robinson is a famous tap dancer. Bill was born on May 25th, 1878 in Richmond, Verginia. He died on November 25, 1949 in New York City. Bill also went by he nickname Bojangles. Many of Bill's close friends and family called him by his nickname. Bill started his career as a traveling act where he performed in a vaudeville, theatrical genre with various varities of performances. Bill's father, Maxwell, worked in a machine shop, while his mother, Maria, was a chior singer. Both of is parents sadly died in 1885. Bill's grandma was then left to raise him. Bill was a 7 year old little boy when the death of his parents occurred. Bill loved dancing, he started dancing from the moment he could walk. Bill also stared in many movies wich helped him become famous.
