Arancini is a popular Italian dish. They are stuffed rice balls that are coated in bread crumbs and deep fried to a golden color. Arancini is believed to have originated while Sicily was under Arab rule, beginning in the 9th century. During this time, Middle Eastern foods including rice, citrus fruits, and spices were introduced to the locals. Arancini was fried, most likely to preserve transport. Did you know that Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream derived from the Latin word “gelātus” or frozen? Gelato is a delicious frozen treat that many people love for it's smooth texture and cool flavors but where exactly did it come from and when and who did the person make it? Though we don't exactly know who made it we think gelato was made in the 16th century. One of the most popular versions of the story is that a person named Bernardo Buontalenti, a native of Florence, a city in Italy, created a form of the modern gelato.
