There are different ways to score in basketball. You can get 3 points by shooting a free throw outside of the 3-point arch. You can get 2 points by shooting anywhere inside the 3-point arch. There are mnay ways to do this like a layup, jumpshot or an alley-oop. The last way to score is to do a free throw which is one point. This occurs when a player is fouled and they take a shot from behind the free throw line. Usually they get 2 attempts so there's a chance for them to score twice.

There are 5 different position in basketball. There is point gaurd, shooting gaurd and small forward which stand on the outside of the 3 point line, and then there is power foward and center which stand on the blocks down low by the hoop.
