Concussion and recap

As a recap, there are 4 steps to finding the key of a key signature.

  1. Identity if the scale is in treble or bass clef.
  2. Know the notes on the scale.
  3. See if the key signature has flats or sharps. If there are no flats or sharps in the key singer, then the key is C major.
  4. Find the key. If there is only one flat on the key signature then the key is F major.

Congratulations! Now you can name and find the key in a key signature. There are plenty of free resources online to practice this skill and and soon it will become second nature. Happy reading!
