Home Bake A Cake Make the Frosting Places to Enjoy Cake

Baking a cake takes time, patience, and detail.
To begin, you will need to gather all your ingredients.
These include:
3 ⅔ cups of cake flour
    1 teaspoon of salt
    2 teaspoons of baking powder
    ¾ teaspoons of baking soda
1 ½ cups of unsalted butter
    2 cups of granulated sugar
    3 large eggs
    2 additional egg whites
1 tablespoon of pure vanilla extract
    1 ½ cups of buttermilk

The butter, eggs, and buttermilk all need to be at room temperature for use.

For this recipe, it is recommended that you have:
    2 medium size bowls
    A mixer
    A spatula
    A pan
Parchment paper (or something to line your pan with)

First, prepare your pan and oven. Line your pan with parchment paper. You may either spread the paper on the bottom and sides of the pan with butter or cautiously spray it with cooking spray. Preheat your oven to 350°. Combine the given measurements of cake flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Set this bowl aside. Using any type of mixer, in another medium bowl, beat the butter and sugar together on high speed until it is a smooth and creamy consistency. Now, take your spatula and scrape up and down the sides of the bowl, as needed, clearing anything off, and placing into the bottom of the bowl with the remaining combination. With the same bowl in front of you, place in your eggs, egg whites, and vanilla extract. Carefully mix on high speed until the ingredients are fully combined. It may look curled due to egg liquid and solid butter being together. Scrape up and down the sides again, repeating your previous steps. Mixing on low speed, add your dry ingredients to your wet ingredients bowl. Add the buttermilk and mix until just combined. Whisk until no lumps are seen. Your batter will be thick. Take your cake pans, which you sprayed earlier, and pour in the batter. To even out the batter, and remove bubbles, tap gently on a hard surface. Bake your cake for around 25 minutes or until a toothpick, inserted into the center, comes out clean. The cake must be completely cool before frosting. Once ready, spread the frosting evenly over the cake, and enjoy!
