Make the Frosting

If desired to make frosting for your cake, you will need:
1 ½ cups of unsalted butter at room temperature
5 ½ cups of confectioners sugar
⅓ cup whole milk or heavy cream
1 ½ teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
⅛ teaspoons of salt
While the cake is cooling, in a large bowl, using a mixer on low, beat the butter for your frosting until creamy. Add your confectioners sugar, milk, vanilla, and salt. If the frosting becomes too thin, just add more sugar! The cake must be completely cool before frosting. Once ready, spread the frosting evenly over the cake, and enjoy!
