I love dance quotes and am inspired by a lot of them. I could go on for days, saying all of my favorites. Some aren't dance quotes but I feel that they closely relate to ballet and dance in general. These are some of my absolute favorites.

Dancing is difficult and takes lots of heart. Also, dancers must be beautiful, like art.

• "Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another." -Unkown

This quote is saying that just using your body is one thing, but putting emotion and passion into what you are doing is another.

• "They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for." -Tom Bodett

To be truly happy, you need only these three things. In dance, you need lots of hope and to look on the bright side.

You are able to connect with your body, thoughts, and control when dancing

• "If you ever feel like giving up, just remember there's a little girl watching who wants to be just like you. Don't dissapoint her." -Unkown

Even if you don't know it, there is always someone watching. If you are an athlete of any kind, either an older or younger child is watching, proud of you and wanting you to succeed. Don't quit because you don't want to disapoint anyone, including yourself.

No matter how old you get, there will never be anything wrong with dreaming big and imagining great things. Also, let the child in you shine through sometimes.
