Nara Prefecture (奈良県) is a prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan. The capital is the city of Nara (奈良市). The prefecture occupies a total area of 3,691.09 kilometers square, which is the 40th of 47 prefectures, and it has a total population of 1,348,930 people (recorded in Sep. 2017), which is the 29th.
