What are the Symptoms of Parkinson's?
There are many symptoms of Parkinson's, but they differ often due to the diversity of the disease. Common symptoms include:
- Tremors, typically in the fingers or hand
- Slowed movement
- Rigid muscles
- Loss of automatic movements
- Speech changes
- Writing changes
What are the 5 Stages of Parkinson's?
- You will experience tremors on your dominant side of the body, and may lose your sense of smell. Changes in posture are common.
- Worsened tremors and rigidness are visible, and posture changes are noticable.
- Loss of balance follows, and you may feel slower than usual.
- Movement is greatly limited, and most patients will only be able to stand and not be able to look after themselves.
- Assistance will be required in everyday life, often needing a wheelchair. If you have advanced Parkinson's, you may suffer hallucinations.
