Motorcycle license plates were first issued in 1905. Unlike passenger plates, motorcycle plates were embossed. (I am assuming this based on images of them.)

In 2002, Wisconsin became one of the last states to adhere to the standard size for motorcycle license plates. It's kind of ironic, considering Wisconsin always had a tendency to do pioneer license plates, with Wisconsin only being 2 years behind Massachusetts for the issuing of license plates and them being the first state to stagger registrations between all months of the year.

Even though it may seem that there isn't much to cover for 2002 Wisconsin motorcycle license plates, there is variations with the sheeting. 1994 base plates never had Avery sheeting, even though other plates were using Avery sheeting from 2000 to 2006.

A related type is sidecar motorcycle, issued from 1924 to 1931 and 1947 to 1957. They would be indicated by a "B" in the top corner.

Moped license plates have been issued since 1979, though they were uncaptioned until 1981. The first plates were identfiable by a serial in the Z series.

Snowmobile Dealer

Snowmobile Dealer license plates have been issued since 1975. Up until the mid-1990s, both snowmobile dealer and ATV dealer license plates were identical. While a person would tend to think that a snowmobile plate would be on a snowmobile, they actually are used for dealers when demonstrating vehicles.
